PETALING JAYA: Prasarana Malaysia Bhd staff members are set to benefit from six new incentives, including salary increments of 4% to 10%.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke made the announcement on behalf of Prasarana.
"The salary increments of 4% to 10% is dependent on the job scope.
"There will be increments of 33.6% in shift allowance from RM11 to RM15 per day for day shifts and 53.8% from RM 13 to RM20 for night shifts. This is applicable for 2,800 front liners and non-executive staff.
"For Rapid Bus staff, an allowance increment of RM10 per day, benefiting some 2,300 bus captains, which will increase their average salary by RM220," he said during a buka puasa event with Prasarana staff at Lembah Subang LRT depot here on Wednesday (April 12).
He added there would be an interim market allowance of RM200 for 590 senior technicians, engineers and senior engineers.
Among others, Loke said Employee Provident Fund contributions by employers for staff who have worked five years and above would be increased to 16%.
Medical benefits for individuals and their families for hospital admissions have also been approved across the board, he said.
Loke said the incentives were to recognise Prasarana staff's efforts and a way to overcome the high turnover rate. In 2022, a total of 836 Prasarana employees resigned,
"The turnover rate is high, with RapidRail recording 6% and Rapid Bus reaching 11%.
"Based on an internal study, the majority of those who left Prasarana were technical staff and bus captains, who were lured away by more lucrative offers," he said.
